How do I find a book?

I found a call number for my book but don't know how to find it.

Answer

The library is arranged alphabetically and starts on the 4th floor:

  • 4th floor: General Collection AC - HT
  • 3rd floor: Juvenile Collection, General Collection HV - SK (N-NB in Great Room)
  • 2nd floor: Special Collections & Archives, Music (M), Art (N), Photography (T), Periodicals (Magazines & Newspapers), Media (DVDs), and Oversize collections.
  • 1st floor: Circulation Desk, Inter-Library Loan

First, locate the call number for your item.

Second, check the location of the call number based on the outline above.

For example, the call number for the MLA Handbook is "LB2369 .G53 2009".

The call numbers HV through QZ are on the 3rd floor so the MLA Handbook can be found in that section. (See pictures below.)
